A morning routine…
These tips are all up to your interpretation. What is best for me, might not be best for you, but trying this routine will help you craft your own.
So simple, you barely have to think about it.
Let me save you some time and tell you
Nothing in life is as simple as 1, 2, 3. Well, except for that extra slice of cake. That decision was pretty simple.
Some things though, once established into your daily routine, become so easy that when you DON’T do them you feel off the rest of the day.
A morning routine should consist of:
Let’s get started:
Every morning you answer these statements/questions:
What did I do yesterday that was positive?
What did I do yesterday that was negative?
What will I do differently today to not repeat the mistakes of yesterday?
By answering these questions honestly, you are becoming more open to the possibility of recognizing your challenges and overcoming them.
Manifest: to make clear or obvious to the eye/mind.
Think about it like this: the more you verbalize what you want to do or want to become, the more you commit to achieving great things. The more you tell yourself what you are holding back, the more you are aiding your mind in recognizing that all of this is B.S. The things holding you back are the exact things that you should aim to defeat.
Rummage through your belongings, or go to the local Barnes and Noble to find a notebook. Preferably a blank one so your mind cannot wander.
Keep this notebook by your bedside, either in a drawer if you hate clutter or just on your nightstand. This will force you to see it each morning and night, leaving you with the reminder to read. The need for a reminder is why I say to keep it on top of your nightstand so you cannot miss it.
The purpose of this notebook is to be your own space to collect your thoughts. Why I do not suggest just thinking about your thoughts, is that writing them down gets them out of your head and onto paper. This releases your thoughts and lets you give your mind a breather.
My manifestation practice is slightly different than others I know. I firmly believe that the Universe helps guide us and that it is 100% on our side. In order to fully do what we are meant to do though, it is great practice to manifest your life.
Each morning I like to set my intentions for the day while my shower is running. Sitting in the hot air of my bathroom seems to open up my mind the best. I suggest finding the place in your home you are the most at peace to do this. Think about, or even speak out loud, what you want to do. Really give it some thought.
Answer these questions:
What do you really want to do with your life?
What are you holding back?
Why are you holding it back?
What are you goals for today?
Where do they come from?
Crafting a perfect morning beauty regimen is far from simple. It takes many trials and many errors to find what is best for your skin.
Something that seems to be a positive for the majority of people I have come in contact with, is to have as “pure” of a regimen as possible. What I mean by “pure” is to have the least chemicals and the most natural.
In skin care, I understand this is not possible always. I was on Accutane for one year and had to put dangerous medicine into my body. In the end, it helped my skin tremendously.
Crafting your perfect routine, FOR YOU, will help you feel refreshed in the morning. Here is my routine. Feel free to use it!
Step 1: Cleanse
Step 2: Moisturize (with SPF)
I have a firm belief that your skincare routine can be simple. Especially in the morning. If you are like me, you do not have time to sit there and pluck every single eyebrow hair (hats off to you if you do).
Wait… that’s it?
Yes! Your beauty routine (pre-makeup if you choose) can be NO HASSLE!
Whether it is a banana and peanut butter, a couple eggs with Avocado, or a green smoothie, making time for breakfast is extremely important.
In order for you to dream big, your mind has to be awake and ready. A tired mind can put you in a fog. This fog will cloud your judgement and affect your mood. It will make you believe that sleeping 24 hours a day is your only hope in this life.
I say hell no to that! Nourishing yourself is such a beneficial tool to your success. Because if you cannot take care of your body, than you cannot take care of your life. There is no way that eating processed foods for every meal, every day can lead you to greatness.
My favorite ten minute breakfasts are:
Oatmeal with 1 scoop of peanut butter and 1 banana
2 eggs with avocado and a side of sautéed spinach, tomato, and mushroom
Oat cereal (whole grain only) with bananas and almond milk
Tofu scramble with mushroom, spinach, peppers, and cumin
Giving yourself something that you do every morning provides balance in your day. Balance is one of the keys to success. Something to guide you each and every day in order to lead you to your best life.
